The defending champion and two-time title winner, West Indies, enters the event as favourites. Known for its big hitters and crushing the opponent ruthlessly, Pollard led-Windies is confident of retaining their title. West Indies will start their campaign on October 23 against England. West Indies has won the 2016 World Cup in a dramatic final, beating England after Carlos Brathwaite’s heroic performance with four sixes in the last over.

With T20 specialists like Chris Gayle, Andre Russell, Kieron Pollard, Bravo, Holder, Pooran and Hetmeyer, West Indies batting can rattle any opponents in the world. Windies ability to quickly adjust to the T20 game format is an advantage for the team. Having played extensive T20 cricket in many leagues, the team knows the pulse of the group. Most of the West Indies T20 squad is playing IPL in the UAE and are in good form ahead of the competition. The West Indies are pooled in Group 1 of super 12 and potential teams like England, Australia, and South Africa. Group 1 is also called the death group, considering the deadly teams in the group.

One of the experienced bowlers of the West Indies, veteran pacer Ravi Rampaul returns to the squad to demolish the opponents with his high speed mixed with accuracy. Jason Holder had a fantastic IPL, so there are chances of picking him to the side. The reigning champion is expected to exhibit their dominance in the shorter format of the game once again. Capable of displaying a massive threat for every best team in the T20 World Cup 2021, West Indies stand at an opportunity to become the first team to win three T20 World Cup victories and create history.
