Forgent Power CFO steps down suddenly

Forgent Power Solutions’ Chief Financial Officer, Ryan Fiedler, has stepped down from his position, citing plans to spend more time with his family, according to a press release. Amy Ard, the company’s Vice President of Finance, has succeeded Fiedler as CFO, effective Wednesday.
Fiedler will remain with the company until October 30 to assist with the transition. His departure is not due to any disagreement with the company, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
During his tenure, Fiedler helped the company through its initial public offering in February 2026, strengthened its finance organization, and contributed to a record fiscal 2026, the company said in a press release. The IPO raised about $1.5 billion at $27 per share, giving Forgent a valuation of about $8.2 billion.
Background and Experience
Fiedler joined Forgent in mid-2025, shortly before the company announced its initial public offering. Before Forgent, he served in various executive roles at Caterpillar for 14 years, including as CFO of Resource Industries and VP of Investor Relations.
Fiedler also spent 10 years at JPMorgan Chase in roles including VP of Investment Banking Coverage. His successor, Amy Ard, has served as VP of Finance since January and helped the company through its February IPO.

Transition and New Appointment
Ard will receive an annual base salary of $550,000 and will be eligible to earn an annual cash bonus of up to 85% of her base pay, based on corporate performance goals. She will also receive a one-time equity grant with a target grant date value of $500,000.
Forgent CEO Gary Niederpruem expressed confidence in Ard’s ability to guide the company through its next phase of value creation, citing her extensive operational finance experience as invaluable in supporting Forgent’s growth.
The company is preparing to report earnings for its first fiscal quarter of 2027, after recording a significant year-over-year increase in net income, which reached $106 million, according to its September 15 earnings report. Full-year revenue of $1.4 billion jumped substantially year-over-year. Notably, this revenue growth represents an 89% year-over-year increase, demonstrating the company’s strong financial performance.
Forgent also released guidance for its fiscal 2027, expecting revenues between $2.4 billion and $2.6 billion. The company plans to report its fiscal 2027 Q1 results on November 12, where it expects to report revenues and adjusted EBITDA exceeding the high end of its previously provided ranges.
As Fiedler departs, it is worth noting that he received an award of 262.9 incentive awards last December, with a grant date value of $616,153 a share, according to the filing. This award reflects the company’s appreciation for his contributions during his tenure, including the successful initial public offering and record fiscal year. With Ard at the helm, Forgent is poised to continue its growth trajectory, and the upcoming earnings report will provide further insight into the company’s financial performance.
