Andrew Kang served as CFO for more than four years.

Michael Saylor, founder of Bitcoin accumulator Strategy, predicted a new bull market for the digital asset despite its volatility. The company announced that its Chief Financial Officer, Andrew Kang, is resigning after more than four years in the position, citing personal reasons.

Kang will relinquish his duties as principal accounting officer and leave the company after serving as an advisor through the end of the year. Strategy’s CEO, Phong Le, will serve as CFO from November 6 to December 31, and Reza Virasteh, currently VP of operations, will take over the CFO role on January 1.

Leadership Transition

As part of the transition, Shelley Khanna, the company’s global controller, will become its chief accounting officer and principal accounting officer on November 6. The leadership change comes as the company reported improvements in some financial metrics in its third-quarter earnings report.

Strategy, formerly known as MicroStrategy, reported net income of $19.53 billion in Q3, compared to $2.79 billion in the year-earlier period. However, total revenues for the recent quarter ticked down to $125.4 million from $128.7 million in the year-earlier period.

Financial Performance

The company’s outgoing CFO, Andrew Kang, noted that Q3’s operating income of $21 billion was the largest in Strategy‘s history. Michael Saylor reiterated his belief in bitcoin’s rebound, saying “we are at the beginning of the next bitcoin bull market.”

Saylor has previously predicted that bitcoin will return to a six-figure value above $100,000. He cited factors such as banks adopting bitcoin, growing institutional demand, and bitcoin’s price being 21% above its 200-week moving average.

Reza Virasteh, the incoming CFO, has previously held senior positions, including VP of FP&A. His compensation package will include a base salary of $500,000, an annual discretionary cash bonus target of $400,000, and restricted stock units with a target value of $1 million.

CEO Phong Le stated that “daily dividends are a natural step toward the tokenized, 24/7/365 financial system. Digital Credit is being built for that world, and Strategy intends to lead it.”
